As part of Black History Month Year 7 have been studying Martin Luther King’s famous, ‘I have a Dream’ speech.

They wrote their own versions based on the world that they would like to create for their generation.

As part of the Skills Builder universal framework of essential skills which are embedded throughout the Undershaw curriculum, the students then performed their speeches for each other and members of staff. Undershaw holds a Skills Builder Silver Award which is testament to the calibre of the curriculum offer and the soft skills unpinning the technical aspects of the teaching and learning.

The Skills Builder Partnership aims to bring together educators, employers, and impact organisations to build and leverage the soft skills necessary for success in future employment.

It was a delight to hear their thoughts and hopes, and to see them present so confidently.
