Rights Respecting

Undershaw is extremely proud to be a Silver UNICEF Rights Respecting School, which actively embeds these values into daily school life, ensuring our children feel heard, understood and safe within our nurturing school environment.

We are firmly committed to achieving Gold status and our entire school (teaching staff, support staff and children) strives to embrace and live these values alongside our school ethos. We actively encourage our pupils to discover their inner worth, build confidence and show support and empathy to their peers; values that will stay with them into adulthood and help them flourish, whatever path they choose.

  • Rights Respecting Assembly - Revisiting ABCDE of Rights - Nov 2026

    The Rights Respecting Steering group led an assembly that revisited the ABCDE of Rights, learnt about the meaning of Equity and Dignity, looked at our Articles of the month, looked at how rights link to the Global Goals and our School values and learnt about our upcoming Outright campaign, supporting children around the world to have a safe space to learn

  • Rights Respecting Assembly - Meet the Pastoral Team - Sep 26

    Slides from our Rights Respecting Assembly in September where James introduced our Pastoral Team to students, spoke about The Hub (a quiet, calm space), discussed attributes of a school council member and how students can put themselves forward for the role, highlighted our Rights Respecting Steering Group, and Buddies, our Undershaw new starter supporters.
